Home Office Space

The idea of Home office as the name implies, is to allow businesses operating on a very small scale to operate from their home. Tenants or occupiers of the residential home can apply through URA under the Home Office (HO) Scheme provided provided that they meet the prevalent HO guidelines and performance requirements and make sure that the use does not cause inconvenience to the neighbours.

Some of restrictions imposed on Home Offices such as:

  • The person conducting the business shall continue to use the premise as his residence.
  • There should not be more than 2 non-residents (including employees, partners and directors)
    engaged in the business at the Home Office.
  • Business owners must ensure that their business activities do not cause additional disturbance to
    the neighbour and the neighbourhood.
  • Display of business signage outside the residential premises is not permitted.
  • The business must fall under the list of allowable business trade under the Home Office scheme.
